Monument Signs

As a custom sign manufacturer many of the custom exterior signs we create are Monument Signs. These can be designed and fabricated from a variety of materials and an array of sizes. Most are fabricated out of aluminum and then finished with a wide range of options including stucco, acrylic, brick, stone, tile, marble, granite and more. The options are really endless depending on your budget. Monuments signs make great illuminated exterior signs for increased visibility at night, if that is an option that you want.

Monument Signs are generally exterior signs used to identify a whole building. For example, if you are a manufacturing plant or a distribution center in a standalone building zoned for industrial or commercial use a Monument Sign is a great option.

Monuments Signs can also be used in retail shopping plazas or a multi-tenant building. In a retail environment Monument Signs are used to identify the building while listing all the various tenants. In most cases the overall size allotted will be determined by the size of building and lot. While most monuments are an average of 4 to 6 feet in height, there are many cities that allow larger and higher Monuments Signs. These can only be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on how your building is zoned and the city of which you are located in.

Architectural Considerations

The architectural design and colors of your building will play a big role in the design of your Monument Sign. When discussing the design of the sign City Planners will look to see that the design of the sign reflects the design of the building. The two need to match esthetically. We welcome working with architectural designers and general contractors on these projects.

Due to the construction, electrical wiring, digging, etc. that’s required when creating and installing Monument Signs engineering plans are required per city codes. This is a service we automatically provide when designing and building your new sign.

A field survey of your location will allow us to best advise you on your options. Some of this information can be obtained online however, once the job has been awarded to us, we then come out and provide a complete technical survey.
