Pylons and Pole Signs

Designing and creating custom exterior signs like Pylons Signs and Pole Signs may be challenging. You want your sign to stand out and yet your sign must be designed and fabricated in accordance with the zoning codes of the city where your business is located. Most Pylons Signs and Pole Signs are fabricated out of metal and aluminum then finished with a wide range of materials including stucco, acrylic, brick, stone, tile, marble, granite and more. These exterior store signs are designed to be illuminated.

Pylon Signs

Pylon Signs are often designed and fabricated for large real estate development projects like shopping malls, shopping plazas and strip malls. They’re generally used to identify an entire shopping plaza while also identifying all of the retail tenants within that plaza. In most cases the zoning laws of the city in which you are located will determine the overall size allotted for the sign. These laws take into consideration the size of both the building and the size of the lot.

The architectural design and colors of your building will play a big role in the design of your Pylon Sign. When discussing the design of the sign City Planners will look to see that the design of the sign reflects the design of the building. The two need to match esthetically. We welcome working with architectural designers and general contractors on these larger projects.

Due to the construction, digging, etc. that’s required when erecting pole signs engineering plans are required per city codes. This is a service we automatically provide when designing and building your new pole sign. As of late many cities no longer allow pole signs. However, if you have an existing pole sign, it may be “grandfathered in” and it just needs a facelift. We can help you with the cosmetics and provide you a refurbished pole sign using flex backlit vinyl faces or Lexan™, which looks brand new. These can be handled on a case-by-case basis depending on the city and the code ordinances that are in effect.
